Devotees may avoid saturday and sunday for free dharsan because the crowd is heavy. The crowd is little less in weekdays. The the crowd is little less after 6.00 PM in week day. The dharsan closes by 9.00 PM. Being there is traffic diversion is take little more time to reach East Gopuram where free dharsans starts from out of town. Usually it takes 2 to 3 hours in weekdays for dharsan. Take sufficient water and refreshments. There is always little push up in free dharsans. Be prepared for wait. Taking little children and aged and pregnant ladies may be avoid.

You are entering from East Gopuram and come out via West Gopuram, Your leaving your foot wear near east Gopuram and when you come out of west gopuram you have to go to east Gopuram to take it back. So make proper arrangement for leaving your foot wears.
It is raining some times in evening so please be prepared.

Athi Varadhar getting ready
The darshan of Athi varadhar commences from July 1st to August 18. Darshan timing slots were 6:00 am - 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm - 8:00pm. There are three different ways are alloted for darshan. So, the people doesn't need to worry about the crowd. Proper arrangements is going on to make.
The people coming from other states and districts should park their vehicles in the below alloted parking areas (pachaiyappas college, nasarthpettai, olimugamathu pettai, thiruveethi pallam, ooruku and periyathottam). The vehicles are not allowed inside the city.
The devotees can get frequent buses for temple from their vechile parking areas itself ( Aadhaar card is mandatory for darshan. So devotees please don't forget to bring your Aadhaar card.
Periyar Nagar Bus stand and pachayappas college parking area will be the nearest to temple. People comming via Tambaram , walajbad or chengelpet will arrive here. From here the temple entrance(East Gopuram) is hardly 200m only.
